The Story It began in a college classroom.

A professor’s warning stayed with her: most businesses fail not because the idea is bad, but because the owners don’t know how to market it. She knew then that marketing was her path.

“When you’re with us, your last name is Gibb.”

Her mother’s words to Tracy’s friends became the way she treats every client: as family.

So she built a firm that treats every client like family.

In August 2016, Tracy founded The Marketing Shop in Moodus, Connecticut. She is also the author of The Quiet Authority.

Community & Leadership Close to home.

Tracy’s roots in her community run deeper than business.

From 2018 to 2021 she served as volunteer Marketing Director of the East Haddam Business Association. She has volunteered with Celebrate East Haddam, served as registrar and treasurer of a local soccer club and as treasurer of the East Haddam Boosters, and spent nine seasons coaching varsity cheerleading, along with two coaching middle school cheer and time volunteering with youth cheer.

Her commitment to youth athletics includes nine seasons coaching varsity cheerleading, two seasons coaching middle school cheerleading, and additional years volunteering with youth cheer programs. In 2024, she was named Shoreline Conference Cheerleading Coach of the Year, recognizing her dedication to student-athletes and the sport.

Tracy is a member of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce.
